Just think about it this way: Stadia, a service that streams a game from a server miles away from you HAS HALF THE LATENCY than Sony's remote play when connected directly through ethernet on the same home network.
PS4 remote play is the worst remote play feature on the market, it was never updated to run faster (as you see in that PC test that is rather new which is still at the same 100ms as the tests from years ago) and therefore I am not interested in the slightest in this feature until they completely redo their whole codec/tech for it. In Digital Foundry's Xbox test, during an early test build of the feature, the lag was only 50ms with some issues in image quality (which have been resolved)Īnd Steam remote play is even faster than that. PS4 remote play is 100ms IN BEST OF THE BEST CASE SCENARIOS.
